Few words about essential oil yield and quality

Essential oil yield depends on 2 factors, the first of them is the volume of the column, the second,  % oil in the plants.5 l essential oil distiller equipped with 2,5 liters (approx. 0,66 US gal) column. Generally, it’s enough for filling with 200-300 g. (10,5 oz) of dried flowersplants. As result, you can receive approx. 9-14 ml (0,4 fl oz) during the first 25 minutes. It might take a little bit more time in the case of collecting hydrosols. (40-50 min) / 20 fl. oz. (600 ml).

Our essential oil distiller is made of high-grade stainless steel in order to be inert to the compounds being distilled, and be able to sustain the distillation temperatures without altering the composition or releasing toxic chemicals.

Copper essential oil distiller danger harmful

Copper distillers that are used sometimes in the spirit industry are completely forbidden for essential oils since copper acts as a catalyst for many of their compounds, breaking them down and degrading the quality of the essential oil.

Glass distillers are good for labs, but unfortunately extremely fragile for home use. Glass breaks. If it is full of boiling explosive gas and sitting on a flame or other heat source when it does so – You are likely to be in the hospital (at best) By the way, the volume would be quite an issue as easily obtainable glassware for a column is probably limited to about 0,5 L.
